The west organ was made in 1963 by the French builder Curt Schwenkedel and was the first of its kind with tracker action to be built in France since the Second World War.
Extensive restoration work on the nave had resulted in a considerable accumulation of dust in the organ.  In 2002 the first part of a more important renovation project was carried out to enable the organ to remain in playing condition and be satisfactorily retuned.
Although the work was described by the town council as a restoration, in fact it amounted to little more than a thorough cleaning without any modification of the instrument.
A re-opening recital was given in June 2002 by Marie-Claire Alain.
