The performer

Jean-Luc PERROT is professor of music, Doctor of Arts and Letters (musicology), currently university lecturer at the Ecole Supérieure du Professorat in Saint-Etienne. He studied organ under Michel Chapuis and Jean Boyer in particular. Titular organist of the Callinet organ (1837) of Notre-Dame, Saint-Etienne and assistant organist of the Clicquot organ (1783) in Souvigny since 2013, he completed a doctoral thesis on “L’Orgue en France de 1789 à 1860”.
A renowned speaker, he is the author of numerous articles, analyses, CD booklets and historic notes. He plays the harmonium, harpsichord, carillon and fortepiano. His organ recordings in La Chaise-Dieu, Souvigny and more recently in Rodez Cathedral, reflect his interest in rare and original music scores. His concerts have taken him all over France, but also to Italy, Poland, Germany, Spain, Canada and Luxemburg. He has wide experience in improvisation, particularly in his lengthy sessions of silent film accompaniments.
Jean-Luc Perrot is also a composer: he has written various works for solo organ and for four hands, as well as works for choir and organ.
